An Epic Event for
a New Era of Love
A 'dating and relating conference idea' to increase relating skills for Australian Adults 25-40yrs to transform the inherited power-over and power-under 'violence' and weave more mutual wellbeing. (see more details below)
Project Concept:
An Australian DATING & RELATING CONFERENCE that proactively inspires interest in relating skills in adults under 40.
The vision is for a vibrant, engaging and truly epic event for 25-40 year olds that inspires them as relationship innovators for these times.

As a social impact initiative, the Conference idea aims to shift relationship education (from online to in-person) making it desirable and entertaining, timely, and accessible before more serious challenges might arise in these relationships.
How many Australians 25 - 44 yrs old could be reached?
To estimate the number of Australians aged 25–44 in 2025:
  • Total population (early 2025): Approximately 26.8 million.datareportal
  • Percentage aged 25–34: 13.9%
  • Percentage aged 35–44: 14.2%
  • Total percentage aged 25–44: 13.9%+14.2%=28.1%13.9%+14.2%=28.1%
Calculation:
26,800,000×0.281≈7,530,80026,800,000×0.281
7,530,800
Ethan Donati with his marketing hat on, talks about "stadium logic" which is a 'rule of thumb' prediction device using the concept of a stadium full of people, how many will be ready to "buy in"/respond in your target audience and how many will never "buy in", and how many 'might'?
Based on the total number of Australian's in the age bracket, if 3% are potentially responsive & ready to 'buy in', that means this project is potentially targeting an audience of over 200,000 Australian's in this age group around the country.
Why a focus on desirability, timing and accessibility?
THE DESIRABILITY ISSUE
Most Relationship Education isn't reaching Younger Adults until they're struggling or in crisis (and even then, many on low incomes don't seek help)
Current violence prevention education isn't resonating with younger Australians, it's gender centric perpetrator/victim. Given the escalating issues and commentary in this arena, we know that much of
what's being done so far "isn't working" or simply isn't connecting with the audience.

THE TIMING ISSUE
Relationship Education is at it's highest relevance to younger Australians while they're dating and relating in their early adult lives and BEFORE the problems of relating are deeply embedded.
AFTER problems arise is sometimes TOO LATE, and 'openness to learning new skills' can decrease once trust has been impacted in a family or couple situation.
Early Education is Key.
THE ACCESSIBILITY ISSUE
Financial Capacity to Access Relationship Education & Support is a Key Factor affecting the rates of young Australians seeking relationship support.
This project intends that 50% of profits be reinvested into C2Ci to create scholarship places for people seeking Relationship Education who may be financially challenged. That is why this project is called a "Social Enterprise" Project, because there's a commitment to profit share that invests in the social change we're holding care for.
Why This Idea, Why Now?
Violence in Relationships is highest among younger adults 25 - 44 yrs based on reported incidences. (Apparently 9 in 10 incidents are not reported*)
75,000
Women 25 - 34yrs
Reported Partner Violence
over two year period
42,900
Men 35 - 44
Reported Partner Violence
over the same period
7.5 Mil
Australians Aged 25 - 44
"Total Addressable Market Size"
Intimate partner violence contributes more to death, disability and illness in women aged 25–44 than any other preventable risk factor in Australia. *The figure of 9/10 incidents not reported is based on ABS research data.

Who are the Australian NVC Community?
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Australia is a community organisation of trainers and practitioners of Nonviolent Communication across the country. Our committee operates a Not-For-Profit Association in Qld called Communicate2Connect Inc and supports a network of independent trainers and their needs for connection and learning, with a regular community newsletter and occasional event offerings.

Our collective passion is to share Marshall Rosenberg's NVC with Australians looking for support in their relationships… those who want to learn and empower their communication and relationship skills in partnership, family and their workplace.

NVC Community: Monthly Project Updates
October 2025
  • This month I was contacted by a community member with such warm support for this project (which really lifted my spirits) Thanks Michelle! And, she sent me details about this Innovation and Impact Grants Challenge that I've now discussed with Chris Gillett at C2Ci - to explore the potential for future grant applications if C2Ci is willing to become a "registered charitable organisation" to be able to receive and administer such grants. This will be a longer path and won't have us ready to apply within the window this year, but it does inspire the imagination (what could $200,000 do to support NVC Australian Community to contribute to relating skills development).
  • Michelle recommended a potential presenter for the Dating & Relating Conference - very grateful to connect with this man's work - thx again Michelle, YES I agree Daniel could be a wonderful inclusion as a presenter 🙂
I checked out his website video, his Instagram and his work in schools. Very genuine and compelling https://www.danielprincipe.com.au/
September 2025
  • Approach to event organiser, Ethan Donati, with Australian Dating & Relating Conference idea. I attended Ethan's Marketing & AI Summit in late August at the Melbourne Convention Centre. I wrote and printed a mini-book to tell Ethan a story about the vision. See the gift bag in Ethan's hand in the photo with the three of us on stage after his event.
  • I'm also aware that as I work to hold this idea that it doesn't occur as a big SHOULD for a whole generation of young adults. It's more that I have a motivation alive to offer a 'compelling invitation' to people, because I have two adult children in their 20's who are more likely to respond to the invitation to learn relating skills, including NVC, if it's packaged in a way that resonates with them.
  • I'll keep you posted about what happens next. Warmly, Kaz :-)
